Mobile usage is on the rise. According to a new study by eMarketer, the average amount of time spent on accessing social media through smartphones is 1 hour and 18 minutes. People use their smartphones to access social networking sites, mobile apps, games, music and chatting services.
The study also showed that in 2009, the amount of time spent talking on the phone has increased to 12%, with text messaging increasing to 55% as compared to 2008. The study focused on US consumers, and showed that the average amount of time spent online is 4 hours and 13 minutes.
