The beta version of Opera's Mini 5 Web Browser for smartphones with Android has been released. This version compresses up to 90% data before content is sent to the phone.  Some of the other great features of this browser included a password manager that stores passwords for social networking sites and e-mail, speed dial which allows direct access to favorites on the start page, a download manager that allows for pause-and-resume downloading  and tabbed browsing.
Opera demonstrated a version of this browser for the iPhone in February at the Mobile World Congress. The beta version of Opera Mini 5 is available on Windows Mobile 5 or 6 phones, Blackberry's, and on phones that run Java apps. The user interface does not support multitouch but is compatible with mobile phones that have traditional keypads and touchscreens.
