Web Spiders Group isbuilding an AI-powered design-to-pricing platform for one of India's leadingtextile manufacturers. The Solution targets to unify material inventoryindexing, market intelligence, AI-generated collections, dynamic pricing, ESGtracking, and automated proposal generation into a single end-to-end workflow.

As Technical Lead, you willown the platform architecture end-to-end - making critical design decisionsacross a modern stack (FastAPI · PostgreSQL · Elasticsearch · AWS/GCP · Next.js· AI/ML APIs) and guiding a cross-functional team of 6–8 engineers through twodelivery phases spanning March 2026 to November 2026

Key Responsibilities:

‍

Architecture& Technical Leadership

• Design and own the platform architecture across all modules — fromAPI design and data modelling to AI integration and infrastructure.
• Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and reviewpractices across a team of full-stack, frontend, AI/ML, and QA engineers.
• Lead architecture decisions for the FastAPI backend, PostgreSQLschema design, Elasticsearch indexing strategy, and AWS/GCP deploymenttopology.
• Produce and maintain architecture decisionrecords (ADRs), API specifications, and technical design documents.

Backend & API Development

• Architect and directly contribute to REST API development usingFastAPI (Python), covering all platform modules.
• Define and oversee API versioning, JWT/OAuth authentication flows,and RBAC implementation across the platform.
• Design the integration API specifications for  SAP ERP data feeds, Excel/GSheets ingestion,and third-party APIs (WGSN, Nitva).
• Own the cost master and dynamic pricing engine —defining architecture for complex calculations covering knitting, dyeing,print, embroidery, and making costs with brand-specific margin rules.

Data Pipelines & ERP Integration

• Architect the end-to-end data ingestion layer for SAP ERP exports,Excel/GSheets feeds, and external APIs.
• Define data schemas, transformation logic, and validation pipelinesfor all data feeds (material master, cost master, order history, capacity, CLO3D outputs).
• Lead cross-team integration testing and contract testingagainst  data systems.
• Design Celery-based or equivalent task queuearchitecture for asynchronous data processing.

AI / MLIntegration

• Architect the AI/ML integration layer - connecting image generationAPIs (for mood boards and collection creation), NLP services, andrecommendation engines into the platform workflow.
• Define the model serving and inference pipeline in collaborationwith the AI/ML engineer.
• Lead the AI image generation, and own the end-to-end collectionworkflow architecture..
• Evaluate and select AI API providers (image generation, NLP) basedon capability, cost, and integration complexity.

Delivery, Quality & Client Engagement

• Lead sprint demos and weekly stakeholder reviews with client team.
• Own the dependency tracker with client team - ensuring data inputsper the Data Responsibility Matrix are tracked and escalated as needed.
• Drive automated testing strategy: unit, integration, and contracttests across all services.
• Own CI/CD pipeline setup, Docker containerisation, and productiondeployment on AWS/GCP.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation pointfor technical issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of professional Python backend development, with atleast 2 years in a technical lead or architect role on production systems.
• Deep proficiency with FastAPI or equivalent async Python frameworks - async patterns, dependency injection, middleware design.
• Strong PostgreSQL expertise: schema design for complex relationaldata, query optimisation, indexing strategies, and migration management.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch or similar search engines:index design, faceted search, relevance tuning.
• Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs at scale - versioning, authentication (JWT/OAuth), RBAC, and rate limiting.
• Experience architecting ETL/data ingestion pipelines from ERPsystems, Excel/CSV feeds, or external APIs.
• Working knowledge of AWS or GCP - compute, managed databases, objectstorage, networking, and serverless where appropriate.
• Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, andinfrastructure-as-code fundamentals.
• Strong software design principles: clean architecture, SOLID, TDD,and test pyramid strategy.
• Excellent communication skills for leading across-functional team and participating in client-facing weekly standups with aC-suite stakeholder.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience integrating AI/ML APIs - image generation (StableDiffusion, DALL-E, Midjourney API), NLP services, or recommendation systems -into production platforms.
• Prior work with SAP data structures, BAPIs, RFC connectors, or ERPsystem integration in any language.
• Domain exposure to textile, fashion, apparel manufacturing, orsupply chain systems.
• Experience with Celery, RQ, or similar async task queue frameworksfor background job orchestration.
• Knowledge of PDF/document generation (ReportLab, WeasyPrint) and QRcode generation libraries.
• Familiarity with Next.js or modern React frameworks - for effectiveAPI contract collaboration with the frontend team.
• Experience with ESG reporting data models or sustainability trackingsystems.
• Prior experience on a joint delivery / clientco-development engagement model.
